Halloween

This year for Halloween (like I said, I'm REALLY behind in my blogging) was really fun now that Jeremy is older and able to enjoy it more. We dressed him up as Bob the Builder since he loves his tools so much! He made a pretty good haul around the Trick-or-Treat circuit, which meant I had a lot of candy since he doesn't eat candy too much. Haha. (Great to be the dad!) I think his favorite thing of all, though, was carving (and drawing on) the pumpkins. We got pretty intense in our carving, which would explain him stripping down to only a diaper... Enjoy!

Murder Mystery Party



The future???

We got invited by some friends for a Murder Mystery Party just before Halloween and it was a lot of fun. Amber and I really got into our roles (as seen to the left). I was supposed to be a journalist who had lost his memory due to eating some gnarly mushrooms in South America. Amber was a rich old lady who was going to buy some fancy antiques. Like I said, we had a blast. Turns out that halfway through the game, I find out that I was actually married to the deceased woman whose estate sale we were at and I ended up collecting all the inheritance! Boo-yeah! So now I'm rich. Well, if by rich you mean being married in real life to a hot "old lady." ;)

The Temple

Our friends the Moodys had their baby recently and we went up to the hospital in Bountiful to see them one night. On the way there, Jeremy saw the Bountiful Temple up on the hillside and said, "Temple! Go to the temple, daddy!" To appease him, we said we would go after we saw the baby, without any real intentions of going up there. After we were done with our visit, we walked out into the parking lot and Jeremy looked up the hill, pointed to the glowing white building, and asked, "We go to temple now, daddy?" I looked at Amber, she looked at me, and we decided that since it was getting late, we'd just try to get in the truck and avoid answering the question. Well, the excitement in his voice soon turned to tears in his eyes as he cried to "go to the temple." I finally stopped being so stubborn and we turned around and drove up the hill. As we got out of the truck, Jeremy was so excited and happy to be at the temple! We passed lots of people in suits, ties, and dresses on our way up the parking lot in our jeans and jackets, but there was just something special about being there that night with Jeremy. We walked around the building several times and explained several more times that we couldn't go inside until he was older. But the Spirit was just as strong outside with my family together than it would have been inside. I love going to the temple. But when was the last time I cried out because I wanted to go so bad? When was the last time I was as excited as Jeremy to get out of the car and be able to go inside the House of the Lord? He's a really special boy, I've never doubted that. But it still blows my mind that I have so much to learn about the simple and important things of life and that he's teaching me so much...

Flying Baby Dolls: Support the Head!

So when Rob and I were in Texas visiting David and Sharee, we got bored in the backyard and put together some video of trick shots and aerial displays. It will be the next video sensation for real. Zach and Taylor also got in on the action. Enjoy! (And don't judge us.)

Texas Trip

I had the opportunity in October to go down to Texas with my brother-in-law, Rob, to see David, Sharee, and their family. It's only been 10 months since David's baptism, but he's already receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood. He's such a stud! We flew down on Friday morning and went to the Air Force base with David where he showed us around and took us to see the planes and where he instructs. We even got to do a flight simulator! I gave myself the call sign "Ace" because I landed my jet on the runway the first try and didn't die. I credit my natural piloting abilities to watching "Top Gun" so many times! (Charlie: "What were you doing up there, Captain?" Maverick: "Communicating." Charlie: "Communicating?" Goose: "Yeah, you know? The bird?") After we were done being "Naval Aviators" we spend the evening around the house playing with Taylor, Zach, and Beth.



The next morning we woke up early and went golfing for 18 holes and it was so great. David even treated us as birthday presents! (I told you the guy was amazing!) Rob won the round, but it came down to the last hole and I would have had him if I could have placed my wedge onto the green... Oh well. I was pretty stoked that I had multiple 300+ yard drives! Boom baby!We went home after and made some videos in the back yard, which you should check out in the next post. (Note: No real children were harmed in the making of these videos.)



Sunday, we went to Church and had a wonderful meeting there. I always enjoy going to wards outside of Utah because the Spirit is so unique and strong there. It takes me back to my youth growing up in the small wards and branches of Montana. When it came time to give David the Priesthood, the Spirit was so strong and it was such an incredible experience. He was truly chosen and foreordained before this life to receive this Priesthood power and he's such an example to me of worthiness, dedication, and righteousness. I'm just so glad to have been a part of this journey with him and to be a part of this great family. Not many can say they have such great in-laws...

The rest of the day was spent lounging around the house, taking naps, making more videos (again, see the next post!), playing with the kids, and watching football. Rob and I were pretty much treated like kings and had such a great time that it was hard to leave. But we were excited to head home and see our families. We took off the next morning and flew home and somebody was pretty excited to me when we got to the airport!
