For Christmas, our secretary at work gave my boss and I each a bag of assorted chocolates. What a kind gift of Christmas cheer, right? Well, as it turned out, there were only 3 milk chocolate ones and the rest were dark chocolate... yeah, I'm not a big fan. So, I left them in the bag on my desk untouched.
Fast forward a few weeks and I came into my office and there's a second bag of chocolates sitting on my desk. It appeared to be opened, so I took a closer look... Just as I suspected! My boss had given me his bag under the guise of "I'm on a diet so I figured you could eat them instead." Liar. The milk chocolate ones were gone! All that was left were the darks! This meant war...
Between the two bags of chocolates, I had about 12 dark chocolates and I knew exactly what to do with them... I'd give them back. But I'd do it tactfully. One at a time. Yeah, I really enjoyed it!
If you're asking yourself right now if that's a chocolate in jell-o... yes, yes it is. And the best part is, I still have more of these stupid chocolates to give my boss! Which reminds me, I need to go mail him a "letter"...
Tyson and I have been wanted to get out snowboarding for weeks and finally got the chance to go. We rolled up to Canyons Resort in PC and got a nice little shred sesh in. Pow was prime and we had a great time! I was especially stoked that I got a photo I'd been wanting for a long time. Great sesh.
As if you didn't already know, I love Pinewood Derby! If one were to look at my racing record over the years as a Scout and now an "adult", you'd wonder why I liked losing so much. Yeah, I think I can count on one hand how many heats I've ever won... No, not trophies. Not championships. Just heats! Yeah. But the reason I love it has nothing with having slow cars. I love designing a car and building it! Those were some of the best times with Dad growing up. We were in it for one thing: TO LOOK GOOD. (After all, if you look good, you ARE good! Right?) So this year was no different:
What is more iconic than the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile?! I've had this in mind for a couple of years now and it was finally time to make it happen! I'd say it turned out pretty good...
And of course we had to have trophies! No point in racing if you can't take home some hardware. And it wouldn't be a Pinewood Derby without the Best In Show pageant queen trophy!
We had a great turnout for the Derby! I think there were about 15 cars in all. The Scouts did a great job on their cars! There was a helicopter, a tank, an El Camino, and a red, white, and blue racer. They were awesome. We all voted for the Best In Show and then took our cars to the track!
You know, I thought with its cylindrical shape the Weinermobile would be quite fast... Apparently not. We might have won one race. Maybe. It was really close. Haha. The important thing was that Jeremy had a great time racing his Weiner Car.
So no, we didn't win in the fastest car category. But guess what... WE WON BEST IN SHOW! Boo-yeah! That's what it's all about, baby! Straight steez for the Weinermobile! Jeremy (especially me) couldn't be more stoked we won a trophy. (Okay, it was mostly just me.)
So there you have it, another Pinewood Derby in the books. I've already got a plan for next year's car and I can't wait to do it again! And a trophy for the mantel! Hahahahahaha! Winner winner, pageant queen trophy dinner.
