9:54 pm... What are most people doing on a Wednesday night? Watching tv? Going to bed? Not the Olsen's! We be ordering the Royal Jade! Oh yeah! And even though we made them stay open five minutes late, the dude was still so stoked as he said: "Seven seven tee tree prease!" Bless you chinese man. Bless you.

Deforestation and Ecoterrorism

Yesterday, I got home from work and decided that it was time... Time for the ecoterrorist act of deforestation and destroying the delicate ecosystem and practically rain forest that had once been my backyard. Okay, so maybe that's a bit over-the-top, but not by much! It seriously was a jungle back there. And I swear on my Uncle Howard's beard that it grew at least 6 inches since Saturday!! So anyway, busted out the mower, ran it down 2 or 3 times just to get it to a manageable length that the mower wouldn't die, ran out of gas, went and got some more gas at the gas station, refueled, hacked down the lettuce some more... Yeah, it took a long time. Guess that's what I get for waiting so long to do the first mow of the year. The yard looks amazing now. We can finally see why it's been worth paying for the lawn treatments as our lawn is now lush and full and growing at an alarming rate. The experience, though, also had its perks. Perk 1) my peach tree has blossoms! Seriously, that stoked me out. Perk 2) I got to take some leftover gasoline and burn the ants and their colony that started to invade the cracks in my driveway. (Another act of ecoterrorism.) So after all was said and done, I'd call it a victory. In closing, a quote by the great snowboarding philosopher, Jeremy Jones:

Great Day

Saturday was a great day. Got back from camping with Jeff and got to eat breakfast with Amber and Jeremy, who missed me a lot. (It's never fun to leave them, but it sure is great coming home.) The weather was INCREDIBLE outside! I finally finished hauling all my blown down limbs to the dumb that were piled up in my front yard, thanks in large part to help from my friend Steve Kinder, who wouldn't let me buy him lunch as a token of thanks. ("That's what friends are for, man!" Indeed.) Ate lunch at Wendy's, got hooked up with an extra frosty for free, and Jeremy ate almost all the fries. (Hahaha.) Got the chin nod from a black guy in a pimped out car when I got in my truck as in he approved of my ride. (Word.) Helped Colby lay down his new floor in his house while Jeremy was taking a killer 3 hour plus nap and got to cut and screw stuff. (Always excellent.) Got home just as Amber was finished up and went to her mom's to bust out the new rototiller and plant peas. (Super stoked to start up the garden again!) And I got to spend the evening with my family. Just a great day.

Hornet Canyon

Here's the pics from our latest camping/hiking adventure. We just went for an overnight trip up above the Farmington Cemetery. Not too much excitement to report besides the skunk who kept trying to sneak into our camp to eat Jeff's chili vegi dogs. It was just great to be back on the ground again!

Lesson Learned

Just finished my online class assignments... at midnight... last day... Yep. Let that be a lesson to you kids, don't procrastinate. I know I've learned my lesson! And I for one will be quiting my procrastination first thing tomorrow! ;)

While it was a pain in the onions to be up late the past several nights finishing this stuff, I still wouldn't trade the time spent with my family the past couple months. Not that it was on them. I should have prioritized better. Just sayin, with a family this steezy who needs homework?

Late Night Shred Sesh

So last Monday, we got DUMPED on! There was snow everywhere when days before and in days after it was in the 60's. But for that night it was a winter wonderland. Tim came over after FHE with the Single's Ward and we were watching the NCAA National Championship game when we decided we were way overdue for a good old fashioned tB shred sesh! So we suited up and as we pulled out around 10:00 p.m., it was still coming down. We started along Main Street heading south to see if we could find any good places to sesh and were able to help a lady get her car unstuck. So with our good deed out of the way, we proceeded down the freeway (which was closed down to one lane) and headed up to Bountiful. We were rewarded with North Canyon and Rocket Parks all to own with no one to answer to so we helped ourselves to a delicious jib sesh of tables, jumps, pow pow, cement ledges, and more. The steez was flowing freely and it was a night to remember for a long time. We finally pulled into the driveway at home around 2:00 a.m. Just one of those good times sliding sideways on the snow!

Disneyland!!!

At long last, here it is! Our Disneyland trip! It was fantastic! The weather couldn't have been better and it was so great being there with our family.

Amber, Jeremy, Amber's mom, and my mom all flew down to California and had an extra day at the park while Tim, Dad, and I drove down. That road trip in itself was an awesome adventure. We left nice and early and made a couple of stops along the way. We stopped at the Red Cliffs in Southern Utah and hiked into the wilderness for a bit. Definitely worth the pit stop. It was beautiful back in there.

We all had a great time at Disneyland, especially Jeremy. He was AWESOME. He loved all the rides, even the "scary" ones. In fact, he fell asleep on Pirates of the Caribbean during the cannon battle. Haha. He loved all the characters and his favorite ride was the Pooh ride. I think he went on it 7 times... at least. We also had some amazing trips down Splash Mountain! Check out the huge guy in our first picture! Yeah, we got SOAKED. Dad's favorite ride was Grizzly River Run where we also got soaked. Hahaha. And the food, the food! Corn dogs, Bengal BBQ, corn dogs, popcorn, turkey legs, corn dogs, smoothies... It was all so good! Even the Tiki man and his, uh, "little tiki."

On the way back, we stopped at a house in Tim's mission where he commandeered some oranges and also at a ghost town called Calico. It was... well, we know why it's a ghost town. Haha. It was okay, but nothing like Bannack. I guess we're just spoiled by a REAL ghost town so close to where we grew up. (See below what can happen when you stay in Calico too long...) We also stopped at Colob Canyon and it was a really cool place to explore as well. And Tim got some much needed sleep on the way home too.

Well, back in reality now. It's really good to be home, but that sure was a great trip! Jeremy keeps saying he wants to go see Buzz and Pooh. I think we all do... ;)
