The Pergola Business

Tim and I have been scheming up business plans again... We decided to throw up an ad on KSL.com for our pergola design and it really took off! We couldn't believe the response that we received. We've done several already and they've turned out really nice! So once again, our Jackalope Bros. enterprise is expanding. No big deal.

Racing Stripes Are All The Rage

After finishing the trailers, I couldn't help feeling like mine looked a little plain on the outside. I didn't want to add the same wood trim that Tim and Dad had, so I decided I wanted to paint the sides instead. After months of waiting for someone to clear their schedule to paint it for me, I took matters into my own hands and did it myself!

Tim has a coworker named Devin who has experience with body work and paint. We threw some ideas around, finally decided upon a design we liked, and started collecting the supplies we needed. Tim and Devin came over last weekend and we went to work.

As you can see, it turned out great! It was a good day's work, if I do say so myself. I couldn't be happier with it and the best part of all was that we did it ourselves here in the garage. I can't wait to get this thing out onto the open road and into the outdoors! Jackalope Bros., baby.

The Teardrops Are Done!

A couple of years, countless trips to Home Depot, and a garage full of new tools later, the teardrops are finished! We finally finished Mom and Dad's trailer and we were able to have all 3 of us hook up our trailers and tow them around town. It was quite the sight to see 3 teardrops rolling through the neighborhood! What an awesome project this has been. It was a lot of work, but so worth it. Thanks to Dad, we had something to keep us occupied in the garage for a while, learned many new skills, and created 3 beautiful trailers. It's pretty cool that we've made different upgrades and improvements to the first trailer we built for Tim. And all 3, while similar, are as unique as we are to each other. And many special thanks to the girls for being patient with our noise, our mess, and our seclusion in the garage as we worked! I really hope we get the chance to do more in the future because it was so much fun. At the same time, it's nice to have a little break. Now it's time to enjoy them! Jackalope Bros., LEGIT!

Trailer #2: First Weekend

We had a really good weekend working on the new trailer. Dad brought the frame down with him and we started working from the frame up. Pretty amazing what a little experience can do... We got further in two days than we did in two weekends on the first one! Everything is coming along great! We got the sides up, insulated, cabinets framed, and tongue-and-groove put up as well as most of the wiring. It's going to be so sick when it's finished. Here's our progress so far:

Well, we're doing it! Tim and I have decided that we're going to go into the teardrop trailer building business. Nothing to hardcore yet, mostly because we still haven't finished the first. But this will make for a great side job/hobby business. We decided if we're going to do this we'd better look official as well. Here's our logo and name:
